A new report confirms that Delcam retained its position as the leading international supplier of specialist machining software and associated services during 2002.

The latest "NC software and related services market assessment" from renowned US consulting and market research firm, CIMdata, confirms that Delcam retained its position as the leading international supplier of specialist machining software and associated services during 2002 In fact, Delcam was again the only specialist supplier to be included among the top ten vendors in all three geographic regions - North America, Europe and Asia

"Delcam's PowerMill has established a strong industry position for three- and five-axis milling of moulds and dies", commented the report's author, Alan Christman.

"The toolpath generation speed is impressive and a wide range of machining strategies is available".

Christman was also impressed by the fact the Delcam operates an in-house Toolroom.

"It is the only one in the industry", he reported.

"Through its use, Delcam software developers can obtain a better understanding of product requirements, gain real-world experience with the products, and test new releases".

Commenting on the results, Delcam's Managing Director Hugh Humphreys said: "I am delighted that our position has been confirmed as the leading international supplier of specialist NC software and services.

We are now undertaking three main initiatives to ensure that we can continue to build on our leading position during this year".

"Firstly, we are broadening the capabilities of our software so that it can be used in a wider range of applications, both in other toolmaking areas such as press tool manufacture and pattern making, and in production machining of complex components.

Secondly, we are adding more capabilities for continuous five-axis machining, with particular emphasis on aerospace applications.

Thirdly, we are increasing our sales to larger companies, while continuing to support smaller enterprises". Request free introductory details about products from Delcam ...
