Expansion for online data translation
Delcam has added the ability to translate files from PTC's Wildfire release of Pro/Engineer and from Rhino to its PS-Exchange online data translation service.

Delcam has expanded the range of translation options from its online data exchange service, PS-Exchange, and these new options will be provided totally free of charge for an introductory period
These latest additions provide an even more comprehensive service to subcontractors that need to read CAD files from their customers.
The full range of options for input into PS-Exchange is now AutoCAD ACIS, DXF and DWG, CATIA versions 4 and 5, Pro/Engineer 2001 and Wildfire, SDRC, Unigraphics, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Cimatron, Parasolid XT, Iges, VDA and Step, while files can be exported as IGES, Parasolid XT, Acis, Step or STL, or as Delcam's own DGK format.
Delcam launched PS-Exchange in 1999 when it was the first online translation service to use a pay-per-use voucher-based payment system.
This gives two immediate advantages over other translation services.
First, as the translation software is stored on the user's own computer, the system is completely secure, with no chance of sensitive information being intercepted or mailed to an incorrect address.
Secondly, this approach gives much faster results as only a short authorisation code is transferred over the web, not the complete CAD model.
