Delcam has formed a new Professional Services Group to undertake larger consultancy projects for users of the company's Power Solution CADCAM software.

Delcam has formed a new Professional Services Group to undertake larger consultancy projects for users of the company's Power Solution CADCAM software.

The primary focus of the group will be working with clients to improve their design and manufacturing processes, and then defining procedures for using Delcam's products to implement those processes.

The new group will be headed by Paul Wilkinson, previously a Software Development Director with PTC, as Professional Services Manager.

Wilkinson initially joined Delcam as Senior CAM Consultant in 2002.

Prior to working for PTC, he had spent some 15 years at Computervision, rising to Software Development Manager with responsibility for all the company's manufacturing products, including CVNC.

During his time at both PTC and Computervision, Wilkinson was principally involved with the development of manufacturing systems for the aerospace, automotive and mould-making industries, including three- to five-axis machining software.

Wilkinson also managed a number of bespoke product development projects that lead to significant cost savings for major clients.

"The formation of this Group represents an exciting opportunity for Delcam", stated CAM Development Director Steve Hobbs.

"We have won some significant contracts in the last 12 months and we expect to win more, especially as recent improvements to our products and wider recognition of the Delcam brand has increased our visibility with larger companies".
