CADCAM software on show in February

A Delcam product story

Delcam will demonstrate its product development software at the Southern Manufacturing exhibition to be held at Thorpe Park on 8 and 9 February.

Delcam will demonstrate its product development software at the Southern Manufacturing exhibition to be held at Thorpe Park on 8 and 9 February.

On its section of the GTMA stand, the company's experts will demonstrate how its CADCAM systems can help manufacturers develop more sophisticated designs more quickly and to a higher quality.

Delcam's Power Solution software is easy to learn with a high degree of automation at all stages to speed up routine operations.

It increases accuracy by reducing the possibility of mistakes, and leaves more time for creative and skilled work.

It comes as either a complete package, including customisation to meet specific requirements with templates, macros and Visual Basic programming, or as a series of stand-alone products.

The company can provide a design through manufacture system for companies that are new to CADCAM or that are looking to replace old or obsolete software.

Alternatively, it can supply individual programs for companies looking to increase the performance of their existing system or to remove bottlenecks in their design and manufacturing processes.

At the show, Delcam will highlight its Total Modelling approach to product design and its Powermill CAM system.

Total Modelling lets logos, textures and other decorations be incorporated into standard designs more readily to help reinforce branding of products.

Modification of complex designs is faster and easier, making it possible to create a larger selection of alternatives when presenting proposals for new designs.

Similarly, updating existing designs, for example when producing a modified toy for a new marketing promotion, can be undertaken more quickly.

Powermill is traditionally associated with the mould and die industry, but is also used in the aerospace and automotive industries for the production machining of complex components.

Additions in the latest release include a 2D machining wizard that enables quicker and easier generation of 2D and 2.5D toolpaths, drilling templates for faster creation of drilling routines, improved machining of flat areas, plunge milling options, and more versatile swarf machining methods.
