Delcam sets monthly sales record in December 2005 with total sales of £2.56 million, 15% up on the previous record monthly level a year previously.

Delcam set a monthly sales record in December 2005 Total sales reached £2.56 million, beating the previous record monthly level, set in December 2004, by almost 15%

This achievement follows record sales by the company in the opening six months of 2005.

"December is normally Delcam's best month for software sales," said Managing Director Hugh Humphreys.

"With the addition of Featurecam to our product range earlier this year, it would have been disappointing if we had not set a new sales record last December".

"However, we have also seen record sales in the month for our established Power Solution software".

The company operates in more than 60 countries and has more than 13,000 customers.

It has seen continued increases in sales in the emerging Asian countries, especially China and India.

At the same time, the recoveries in the manufacturing industries of Japan and North America have helped increase sales in those areas.

"We continue to invest a high percentage of our revenue in further development of our products to ensure that they maintain their market leadership," said Humphreys.

"We continue to diversify the applications of our software and reduce our dependence on the toolmaking industry".

"We have already seen some important successes in our new target markets".

Delcam has become a member of the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC), a joint initiative by the University of Sheffield and aircraft manufacturer Boeing with a mission to create a Centre of Manufacturing Excellence for the aerospace industry.

AMRC will be using its Powermill CAM system to program its five-axis machines as part of its attempts to push the boundaries of all aspects of machining difficult and exotic materials, to test new research techniques in a real-world environment and to introduce advanced, efficient and effective manufacturing processes.

In the motorsport area, Powermill was chosen by Zytek Engineering for the manufacture of all engines for the A1 Grand Prix series.

"This contract involved the manufacture of more than 50 identical engines in a time-frame that was only possible through the use of Delcam's software and advanced five-axis machine tools," said Humphreys. Request free introductory details about products from Delcam ...
