Delcam is to sponsor the Metalworking Production Summit 'Sustainable Manufacturing in the 21st Century', which will be held at the AMRC with Boeing Factory of the Future in Sheffield on 6 November.
The company will use the event to promote its CADCAM software to delegates looking to improve any or all aspects of their product development processes.
Emphasising the importance of the event in a rapidly changing environment for UK manufacturing, Mike Excell, editor of Metalworking Production (MWP) said: 'The current economic climate, developments in manufacturing technology and the rapid evolution of consumer demand present new challenges and opportunities, almost daily, for engineering SMEs and OEMs.
'The aims for the MWP Summit are very simple: to illuminate some of the critical issues within this complex environment, and to help stimulate the growth and prosperity of the companies that work in it.
'We hope that representatives of companies both large and small will join us for what we firmly believe will be a valuable, informative and enjoyable day.' Reflecting the choice of venue, the summit will concentrate on the importance of the aerospace industry to UK manufacturing.
Delegates will be able to hear top-level speakers from organisations such as Boeing and Rolls-Royce, as well as the AMRC and senior managers from successful SMEs.
Topics to be covered will include advanced manufacturing techniques and materials, how to prosper as an independent SME, maximising global sourcing and marketing opportunities and the impact of environmental imperatives.
The programme will be completed with a tour of the Factory of the Future, featuring demonstrations of virtual reality simulation, additive manufacturing and high-speed machining.
