Delta Tau has developed a version of its global standard PMAC motion controller specifically to suit the space and flexibility demands of embedded systems.

The 3U format Turbo PMAC is remarkably compact making it suitable for integrated control panels and PC controllers.

The 3U format Turbo PMAC enables "stack and pack" configurations adding to its flexibility.

The boards come with Delta Tau's Turbo CPU as standard and share many of the components of the company's MACRO fibre optic network systems.

For embedded PC based systems and general fieldbus connectivity there is an optional PC/104 interface.

Understanding the disparate needs of industry when it comes to fieldbus issues, Delta Tau has designed the 3U format PMAC to support the PC/104 bus that uses software equivalent to ISA (PC-AT) bus and is electrically equivalent to ISA (except CMOS technology is used instead of TTL).

Stacking pin connectors are used instead of card edge types.

The bus interface can be used with or without DPRAM.

PC/104 has also been used to avoid PC form factor and because it is suitable for both high and low end PCs.

There is also a wide range of peripheral supported as well as interfaces to Ethernet, CANbus, Profibus, CONTROLNet and so forth.
