Described as the most versatile 1/2 VGA display unit currently available, the new Maximiser from Densitron Technologies provides increased performance compared with display units of this size but at a price comparable with existing 1/4 VGA displays.

This has been achieved by the use of the latest driver technology and the most modern production facilities.

Incorporating a big six-inch diagonal screen, the Maximiser is a passive monochrome display that is available in two versions: negative mode (STN) and positive mode (F-STN).

Both have a number of common design features and both provide powerful viewing capabilities.

Identical features include a view area 125.50mm wide and 87.20mm deep, with a dot pitch of 0.25 x 0.25 and a dot size of 0.23 x 0.23.

Both versions also have a wide viewing angle, a low-power CFL backlight (less than 2 watt over 10,000 hours of life), an operating temperature range of -15-70C and a storage temperature range -20 to +70C and a 4-bit serial interface.

The STN version offers extreme brightness (over 100cd/m2), while the F-STN version is sunlight readable.

The STN format is transmissive, while the F-STN format is transflective (ie, it can be used with or without the backlight on).

Both formats are grey-scaleable.
