Densitron breaks 6in touch screen barrier

A Densitron Display Solutions product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 26, 2008

Densitron has released a 5.7in projective capacitive touch screen (PCT).

Benefits include: excellent readability, with light transmission of up to 91 per cent through a standard sensor; no drift, meaning no recalibration is required; a pointing device that works with gloved and ungloved fingers; resistance to contamination from harsh cleaning fluids and other noxious substances; and a 3 to 10mm hardened glass screen, making it difficult to damage.

Sizes range from 5.7 to 10.4in, with custom sizes also available.

The DTS413 series ITO based PCTs for handheld and small instruments includes sizes of 5.7in and smaller.

Operating systems supported include Windows 98SE, NT, ME, 2000, XP, XP-E, and CE.

A growing number of industries, including medical equipment and industrial instrument manufactures, are now using touch screens.
