Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jan 23, 2001

DED, the manufacturer and distributor of specialist printers, PoS equipment, CCD and laser barcode scanners, magnetic and smart card readers and writers etc., has launched a new web site

DED, the manufacturer and distributor of specialist printers, PoS equipment, CCD and laser barcode scanners, magnetic and smart card readers and writers, cash drawers, pole displays and plastic card printers, has just launched a brand new website reflecting the changes that have taken place at the company over the last 12 months.

DED acquired the trading name and business of Millbank Computers during FY2000, and with the additional business generated both by this acquisition and a general large demand for products, subsequently increased its workforce by 50%.

A complete restructuring of the company's sales team has taken place, with dedicated full time staff covering PoS, Card Printers, OEM products and also consumable sales and card printing bureau, rising to the demand by end customers for these products.

Additionally sales backup, purchasing accounts, technical/service and stores teams have grown to support the sales teams.

The company's local warehouse has expanded to comply with the increase in demand and to ensure that large product stocks are always held, so that customers benefit from same day despatch for their orders.

In addition to the complete restructuring of the company, a wealth of new product ranges have also been introduced, including Phoenix Peripheral keyboards, Posiflex POS/Hospitality terminals, CIPI ID card accessories and many more.

The new website provides a large amount of information about all of the products that DED manufactures and distributes.

Divided into sections covering POS, Card printers, Consumables and Accessories, OEM, Software and also services, the site is extremely user friendly.

There are also links to datasheets providing more detailed product information should the user require it, in addition to a section designed purely for DED's resellers, printer drivers, special offers and exhibition information.
