Portable data collection terminal looks versatile

DED has recently released the ScanPal 2 portable data collection terminal, an ideal tool for inventory control, tracking, shop floor management, meter reading and warehousing and distribution

DED Limited has recently released the ScanPal 2 portable data collection terminal, which is designed to provide high-performance for everyday use.

With a 16 bit CMOS low power consumption CPU, the device features a backlit 128 x 64 dot Graphic LCD display and a data memory capacity of 1MB SRAM.

There are RS232, KBW, Infrared and IrDA interfaces for data download/upload with a transmission speed of up to 115.2Kbps.

The terminal operates from either alkaline or NiMH rechargeable batteries.

The keypad has 21 rubber keys and both buzzer and LED are featured as indicators.

The device is a handy size, measuring just 145mm x 63mm x 33.5mm, and weighs a mere 180g, including batteries.

It is also provided to the end customer with an easy to use Windows application generator and download software included.

Housing an integrated laser/LRCCD barcode scanning unit, the ScanPal is an ideal tool for inventory control, tracking, shop floor management, meter reading and warehousing and distribution.

The depth of field offered by the monitor ranges from 5cm to 95cm depending on the bar code resolution.

Operating in the temperature range between -20*C and +60*C, the ScanPal terminal is fully shock resistant, and classed to EMC regulations FCC class A whilst also CE and C-Tick approved.
