DED is showing at IFSEC the P720 dual sided colour card printer with an advanced "one-pass" dual sided laminator, for the production of highly durable and secure long-life plastic cards

DED is showing for the first time at IFSEC the P720 dual sided colour card printer with an advanced "one-pass" dual sided laminator, for the production of highly durable and secure long-life plastic cards, ideal for a wide variety of security and ID applications.

This new dual sided colour/monochrome printer/laminator is able to produce high definition, full colour, dual sided laminated plastic cards at a speed of 120 cards per hour.

Laminating the front and back of a card in one pass enables the production of cards at this high speed.

The process of dual-sided lamination helps to provide an extended card life in comparison with non-laminated cards, as dye migration, UV fading, abrasion and damage which occurs due to frequent swiping all play a significant part in shortening the life of a card.

It is also possible to make use of various types of custom hologram laminates, which may prevent card alterations and forgery.

The P720 features a rugged, all metal enclosure with viewing window, with a card feeder capacity of 200 cards, and an output hopper capacity of 100 cards.

A proven reliable print engine and a durable dual sided card laminator with ribbon and laminate type detection/recognition systems is also incorporated.

There is also 4MB of memory on-board.

The P720 also incorporates an in-line cleaning cartridge, bi-directional printer-driver communications with USB and Centronics interfaces featured as standard, and automatic laminate detection synchronisation as well as an easy to use two line 32 digit interactive menu driven control panel.

Every unit is equipped with a reject card hopper, which is also able to detect any printing and encoding errors.

Printer drivers for Windows 95/98, 2000 and NT for plug and play operation are also fitted.

Measuring 800mm x 235mm x 270mm, the printer operates in temperatures of 15*C to 30*C and is manufactured to ISO 9001 and approved to FCC Class A, CE, UL and CUL standards.

The option for magnetic encoding and/or smart card contact station models is also available.

Some examples of ideal applications for cards produced by the P720 are: Drivers Licenses and Government ID; Law Enforcement and Correction Facility ID, and Access control and Time/Attendance cards.
