Design validation time shortened at Sanyo
Delmia's Quest and UltraSpot have contributed significantly to Sanyo Machine Works' objectives of shortening design validation time and improving system quality.
Delmia expects to occupy the new building by late January 2003.
Delmia announced in September it was expanding and moving to Auburn Hills, with an investment of up to $9.2 million.
To assist this effort, Delmia has received a single business tax credit from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, valued at $2 million over ten years.
According to an economic analysis conducted by the University of Michigan, it is estimated Delmia's expansion will generate a total of 328 jobs in the state by 2012.
The project is expected to generate more than $209 million in personal income during that time.
The new facility will house the North American sales, marketing and administrative staff.
It will feature a dedicated R and D area; four new flexible training rooms to accommodate the growing demand for external and internal training programs; enhanced conference areas equipped with video conferencing, multimedia and teleconferencing capabilities; and space to house its growing support and services organisation.
In addition to all the technical amenities, Delmia is investing in a comfortable, professional environment for its employees.
"The use of digital manufacturing tools in automotive, aerospace and shipbuilding has steadily increased", says Delmia CEO Philippe Charles.
"As part of the implementation of enterprise-wide 3D product lifecycle management (3D PLM) solutions from Dassault Systemes (which include sister brands, Catia, Enovia, and Smarteam), we need to expand our facilities to meet these growing trends.
And, as a member of Oakland County's Automation Alley, we are very pleased to be able stay in this technology-focused centre of Michigan".
