The DF project is one of the largest IT projects within DaimlerChrysler.
The Delmia DF solution includes planning and optimisation processes for digital product and process validation, assembly, body manufacturing, and chassis and assembly production as well as logistics for DaimlerChrysler vehicle projects.
The solution supports system-supplier co-operation and enables the company to distribute work among several locations, while improving quality, reducing costs and shortening production time.
Particularly for the early stages of planning, implementation of Delmia DF represents a major step toward Mercedes Car Group's goal of delivering quality products while effectively managing increasing competition and cost pressure.
"The co-operation with our partner, Delmia Corp, started well before the agreement was signed and has laid the foundation for the success of this strategic project", said Gunter Walz, Head of Production Planning at Mercedes Car Group.
