The Deva 004 motion control card, targeted at the co-ordinate measurement machine market, incorporates an interface for Renishaw's touch-probes compatible with models such as the TP20 and TP6.

The Deva 004 motion control card, targeted at the co-ordinate measurement machine market., incorporates an interface for Renishaw's touch-probes compatible with models such as the TP20 and TP6 Designed for OEMs, this option is a complete interface solution for co-ordinate measurement machine applications

Deva's already powerful motion control software library has been extended to include a variety of automatic probing cycles.

The library supports rapid application development tools such as Visual 'C', Visual Basic and LabVIEW, allowing OEM's to create sophisticated motion control applications quickly and reliably.

A probe protection facility is included to halt the machine, should the probe inadvertently make incorrect contact with a workpiece or other obstruction.

On board validation circuitry guarantees high accuracy probing whilst minimising the effects of false triggering that can arise from vibration and high accelerations.

Hardware features in common with the standard Deva 004 card include, from 2 to 16 axes of servo control and dedicated opto-isolated digital outputs to enable each of the axis drive amplifiers.

On board timer and event driven interrupt logic ensures that the speed and performance of the control software is maximised and axis update rates of 1KHz are readily achieved.

Permitting rapid development of sophisticated motion control systems by both OEMs and end users, the motion control software library is compatible with MS-DOS, Windows 3.x/'95/NT4/98/2000 and LabVIEW operating environments.

The use and features of the library are clearly illustrated by example source code and a fully operational motion control program.

Additional software support is available for customers wishing to design their own non-standard servo control and interpolation algorithms.
