Telescopic probe aids in-flight refuelling
Having worked with Flight Refuelling for the last four years, Pershore based Accura Geneva has seen the relationship develop into one that is today an example of a true partnership between companies.
Applications include the control of bio-film development in dental unit water systems and in endoscope washer/disinfectors.
The Tristel Company outsourced all design and development activates for the generator to specialist medical device design company Design Technology International based in Suffolk.
Paul Swinney CEO of The Tristel Company summarised the benefits of outsourcing: "Tristel is a relatively young but rapidly expanding company and Design Technology International enabled us to bring to market a new application for our chlorine dioxide technology in a timeframe that our existing resources would never have permitted".

"Their expertise and experience allowed us to develop an innovative and patented product that gives us a real edge against far larger competitor companies".
Commenting on the development programme, John Hawker, Managing Director of Design Technology International said: "The Tristel Company needed to rapidly design, develop and production engineer an innovative new product and were looking for a 'one stop' external design resource capable of delivering a certificated product in less than 18 months from start to finish".
"Outsourcing design and development activities is a very cost effective way to introduce new products to the market and it leaves the client company free to capitalise on their in-house strengths without the need to build or maintain a costly R and D facility".
"In addition to our electromechanical design capabilities, our area of specialisation includes access to development funding, patenting, regulatory compliance, prototyping, testing and manufacture of certificated product in the UK and the Far East".
"Outsourcing provided significant benefits to The Tristel Company and as part of the service provided we were able to patent the technology and obtain a Department of Trade and Industry research and development grant to fund the development programme".
Hawker went on to say that there are many companies in the UK who want to grow their businesses by exploiting new product opportunities but lack the in-house resources and expertise to develop and bring new products to market.
