When E2L was developing its new Dr.X range of 'fit and forget' contact modules, it needed its electrical connector supplier to meet strict design guidelines

When leading machinery condition monitoring equipment manufacturer, E2L Ltd, was developing its new Dr.X range of 'fit and forget' contact modules, it needed its electrical connector supplier to meet strict design guidelines E2L chose to work with Deutsch and, in particular, the company's Industrial Micro Connectors (IMC)

Lyndon Owen, Director at E2L explains, "One of the key factors in the Dr.X range is the product's slim-line design.

The IMC Series connectors from Deutsch were the only ones that offered a small diameter and met IP67 regulations." He continues, "In fact, the IMC Series connectors have fitted so well into the design of the Dr.X range that the bottom half of each one is now cast directly into the lid of each module, done via injection moulding.

This increases the stability and durability of the lid and the connector is now a fully integral part of the product." IMC Series connectors are suitable for most industrial applications where heat, dust, moisture and commonly used industrial oils and chemicals are prevalent.

Its compact design also makes it ideal for applications where space is at a premium.

IMC Series composite connectors are constructed from high temperature resistant Ultem and exceed UL94 Class V-O flammability requirements.

The range is manufactured in two shell sizes and 7 contact configurations.

Main features include gold plated contacts and PCB configurations, a bayonet (type) lock coupling mechanism, and an operating temperature of between -55oC to +175oC.

The range is also offered with overmoulding and a variety of boot, and pro-cap accessories.
