Deutsch connectors have been part of the Ferrari F1 success story for the second year running, playing a critical role in the advanced telematics of the cars

Deutsch supplies connectors from its Autosport and Hermetic ranges to the Ferrari F1 team and all have successfully transferred data from various parts of the car and engine to allow the team to see exactly how the car is performing during each grand prix Each car carries approximately 150 connectors, up to 80 of which are supplied by Deutsch

The company's AS Microlite range is well known for living up to its name and was specified for being able to withstand the pressures of F1 racing but also be light enough to save the team some vital grammes that can be used more efficiently elsewhere in the car.

Auto Sport product manager Paul Webb comments, "Of course we're very proud to supply Ferrari with our connectors.

We've worked hard to engineer our connectors precisely to suit Ferrari's specifications and are confident that more of our micro ranges will be raced on the cars next year." The design of the Microlite HE connector allows it to be fitted into even the smallest space envelope.

It is fully intermateable with the Micro HE range as well as being suitable for blind mating.

Other features include positive locking coupling mechanism and a conductive black zinc finish.
