Connector manufacturer Deutsch had a nice surprise when exhibiting the recent British Motorsport Show II in Yokohama, when show VIP Jenson Button visited the Deutsch stand.

Deutsch connectors are found in every car on the F1 grid, including Jenson's current team and the star was interested to find exactly which components were used by his teams.

Industrial Division Manager, Dave Watters and Autosport product manager, Paul Webb, showed Jenson the Microlite HE, which ensures against the failure of any of the car's electrical systems and weighs a third less than its closest competitor.

"Jenson was genuinely interested to find out what we supplied to his teams and how important connection technology is in the F1 industry.

The car that Jenson drives next season is likely to have in excess of 100 connectors on it, making lightness an increasingly important factor." The Microlite HE from Deutsch is specifically engineered to meet the increasing demands for improved efficiency.

It's ultra compact design has been extended to include 6 keyways and allows the Microlite HE to be fitted into even the smallest space envelope.

It is also fully intermateable with the original Micro HE as well as being suitable for blind mating.

Other features include positive locking coupling mechanism and a conductive black zinc finish.
