A new compact heavy-duty power connector is aimed specifically at battery, alternator and starter motor applications within the motorsport market.

The Autosport Heavy Duty (ASHD) connector has been designed by Deutsch in response to the high-power needs of their motorsport customers.

The ASHD, with a strong aluminium alloy shell and coupling ring, fulfils the industry's demands for a powerful connector within a small space envelope that can cope with the harsh racing environment.

This single-way power connector is environmentally sealed, thermal-cycle-tested and heavy-duty rated.

Standard crimp technology as used throughout the Deutsch Autosport range features gold-plated copper solid contacts.

In tests the positive-lock bayonet-contact system has proved extremely resistant to vibration.

Featuring cable accommodation of 16, 25 or 35mm2, the ASHD is produced in 2-hole and inline mounting styles.

Deutsch Autosport Product Specialist Paul Webb explains: "Our customers were asking for a heavy-duty power connector within a minimum space envelope".

"We are satisfied that with the ASHD we are delivering a quality connector that will be the first choice for anyone working with battery, alternator and starter motor applications".
