The CENELEC Technical Board has ratified EN 50325-1 (General) and EN 50325-2 (DeviceNet), officially adopting DeviceNet as a European standard.

DeviceNet goes from strength to strength and is one of the most popular fieldbus systems world-wide Now the CENELEC Technical Board has ratified EN 50325 - 1 (General) and EN 50325 - 2 (DeviceNet), officially adopting DeviceNet as a European standard

The news will significantly boost the use of DeviceNet in the UK and Europe and the companies that offer DeviceNet compatible solutions.

It is also good news for the Open DeviceNet Vendor Association (ODVA), European DeviceNet Technical Support Centre at the University of Warwick.

The European Centre provides information, specifications, conformance testing and DeviceNet training.

The associated International Manufacturing Centre also allows practical demonstrations related to specific products.

UK based companies currently offering DeviceNet solutions include: - Accutest, Brad Harrison, Belden, British Federal, Contemporary Controls, Cutler Hammer, HM Computing, Hitex, Turck Banner, Negretti Weighing, Numatics, Omron, SMC, Rockwell Automation, Wago, Weidmuller, and the Warwick Manufacturing Group.
