Software helps engineers to efficiently create and manipulate faceted models for 3D printing, rapid prototyping, simulation, manufacturing and analysis.

DeskArtes has introduced 3Data Expert software version 8.0 for 3D printing, rapid prototyping and simulation data transfer and manipulation 3Data Expert is DeskArtes' solution for manufacturing engineers needing to efficiently create and manipulate faceted models for 3D printing, rapid prototyping, simulation, manufacturing and analysis

The main emphasis with the release 8.0 is the new user interface, data structures and context sensitive repair help allowing fully interactive and effective 3D model repair and manipulation.

Simultaneously DeskArtes is releasing new versions to Dimensions Expert and View Expert software tools.

3Data Expert software converts surface data in IGES, Catia, Pro/E, STEP and UGS files to solid STL, ZPR or VRML files.

The software also detects and automatically repairs various mistakes in the STL, VRML and ZPR models.

"DeskArtes 3Data Expert now offers really easy to use model fixing for different 3D printing systems".

"New viewing, selection and context sensitive help make the work almost fun", notes Ismo Makela, CEO of DeskArtes.

"Also, different levels for error reporting allow the users to tune their software according to the receiving system: 3D colour printing versus 3D printing or simulation software".

3Data Expert is part of the DeskArtes Expert Series software product family, which offers wide functionality to speed up the design and manufacturing process in new product development at different levels, from start to finish.
