Aaeon's APC-8122 combines a tough, but modern, clean exterior with superior multimedia performance, enabling it to run exacting applications.
Display Solutions has a new high performance panel PC, designed primarily for applications in the point-of-sale, information kiosk and gaming markets.
Aaeon's APC-8122 combines a tough, but modern, clean exterior with superior multimedia performance, enabling it to run exacting applications in external customer facing environments.
The panel PC offers top of the range specifications, with a Socket PGA478 for Pentium 4 and Celeron processors of speeds up to 3.06GHz with FSB speeds of up to 533MHz.
The board also supports hyper-threading for multiple instruction execution, believed to be the first time this feature has been included in this type of product.
A DDR DIMM slot is also provided to allow the addition of up to 1Gbyte of SDRAM, which is more than ample to fully exploit the processor power available.
The APC-8122 has a high-quality 12.1in TFT display finished with a choice of either a strengthened glass protective window or analogue resistive touch-screen.
As expected for a Panel PC designed for running demanding multimedia applications, audio specifications are also of the highest quality, 5.1.
channel audio output is provided as standard, as are connections for mic-in, line-in and speaker-out.
The APC-8122 is fully ruggedised for operation in the toughest of environments.
With EMC certification to CE/FCC class B, the PC is built using a heavy-duty steel chassis, keeping vibration to a minimum.
The Panel PC is also sealed to IP-65 standard with an antiscratch aluminium front panel that is resistant to water, dust, oil and other contaminants.
An antivibration disk drive bay is provided for the addition off a hard disk drive.
The APC-8122 offers a host of I/O options, which include three serial ports, two RS232 and one configurable to RS232, RS422 or RS485, configurable digital I/O (16 in or out), four rear and one front USB port, VGA, and parallel ports.
The system can be expanded by the two PCI slots, the mini PCI slot and the 6in1 card reader.
An integral 10/100base-TX Ethernet port allows quick and easy connection to networks.
The APC-8122 has been designed to operate straight from the box and supports Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows XP Embedded.
The APC-8122 is available now at a very competitive price and conforms to all relevant international standards.
