Aaeon Boxer series of industrial controllers acquires licensing certification for use with QNX's Neutrino operating system.
Display Solutions has announced that the Aaeon Boxer series of industrial controllers, for which it provides technical and applications support, has acquired licensing certification for use with QNX's Neutrino operating system.
This certification gives the controllers the real-time capability to be targeted at mission-critical applications for the industrial automation, security, military and medical markets.
But telematics and infotainment are the main targets.
The Neutrino RTos and support tools should improve the reliability and scalability of the Boxer series.
A microkernel operating system, Neutrino provides memory protection, distributed processing, symmetric multiprocessing, Posix APIs and a dynamically upgradeable architecture.
The Boxer AEC-6810, AEC-6820B, AEC-6840 and AEC-6850 support a range of processors.
These range from the AEC-6810's 667MHz Eden to the AEC-6850's 1.3GHz Intel Celeron.
They also have multiple communication and expansion options.
Offering vibration and shock protection, rated to EMC CE/FCC class and performing over the industrial temperature range -15 to +65C, the controllers can operate in tough environments.
All members of the series conform to relevant international standards.
