Display Solutions announces Onyx-153 and Onyx-173 computer workstations for medical applications.

Display Solutions has announced the Onyx-153 and Onyx-173 computer workstations for medical applications.

Developed by Aaeon, these two stations have high brightness screens for reading Dicom images.

They have integrated multimedia functions, expansion options, safety and medical certification and MS DOS, Windows 2000 and Windows XP support.

Both are powered by Celeron M or Pentium M processor with 2Mbyte cache.

These processors are supported by up to 1Gbyte of DDR RAM and a 2.5in hard drive.

WLAN and gigabit LAN network capabilities are included.

The Onyx-173 has a 43cm resistive touchscreen with a resolution of 1280 x 1024, luminance of 0.03cd/cm2 and typical viewing angle up to 150deg.

The Onyx-153 has a 38cm display with resistive touchscreen, 0.04cd/cm2 brightness, resolution of 1024 x 768 and a viewing angle of 170 degrees.

Both screens display 16.7 million colours and have a backlight MTBF of 50,000 hours.

There are five external and two internal USB ports.

Three serial ports are included; two RS232 and one port that can be configured to RS232, 422 or 485.

Also included are parallel, keyboard and mouse ports.

Media I/O is supported with S-video in and out and Mic-in, line-in and line-out.

Both stations have a side-mount eight-in-one card reader, DVD ROM drive, RFID security and smartcard reader to support digital I/O, storage and ID checking.

They can be expanded using the PCI and Mini PCI slots.

Other applications include POS systems, healthcare utility, interactive information displays, automation control systems, general desktop use and multimedia recreation.
