A Directed Perception product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 12, 2008

Directed Perception has announced the availability of its PTU-D48 range of computer controlled pan-tilt units.

The PTU-D48 provides computer-controlled pointing and tracking for a wide range of fixed and mobile applications.

The integrated design of the PTU-D48 provides a complete turnkey positioning solution for fast, accurate, dynamic, computer-controlled positioning of pan and tilt through a wide range of motion.

The units are designed for positioning of cameras, thermal imagers, lasers, antennas, plus other payloads up to 15lbs.

Units have flexible mounting options for single or multiple payloads and are suitable for fixed and mobile applications (air, ground, sea) in industrial and military markets.

The PTU-D48 can also be used as a complete, drop-in positioning solution.

The mechanical design uses worm gear design for dynamics and rigidity - no belts or pulleys are needed.

Customisation options for the PTU-D48 include changes in: payload connectors/cabling, mounting brackets, control protocols and network interfaces.

The units are now shipping to customers worldwide for utilisation in a variety of communications, surveillance, defence, and RandD applications.
