The RuggedTouch is a robust touchscreen, while the RuggedTouch Plus combines the display features of the RuggedTouch with a rear-mounted computer, making it one of the toughest, most powerful, integrated workstations on the market today Conventional industrial touchscreens are often not capable of withstanding the harsh environments found in the defence, manufacturing and processing industries, but Dolch uses EnhancedInfrared technology that is immune to surface damage such as chips or scratches and is covered by a five-year guarantee

Touch screens withstand harsh conditions
Dolch describes the SafeTTouch 4X as the ultimate touch screen display to withstand the extreme conditions faced by the food, drink and pharmaceutical industries.
The versatile touchscreen can be operated by users wearing gloves or holding a stylus, and the EnhancedInfrared technology maintains its calibration over time, never drifting or losing sensitivity.
Because the touchscreen technology avoids the use of overlays, the image clarity from the bright, sharp, high-resolution active matrix LCD screen is always 100%.
Dolch also offers an option to upgrade the screen to a direct sunlight readable version for outdoor applications.
The new products are both built to CSA Class 1, Division 1 as standard and are sealed to IP66 so they can be used even in areas where regular washdowns with high-pressure caustic solutions are necessary.
The LCD screens are available in sizes of 12, 15 and 18in.
Customers can choose from stainless steel or powder-coated steel for the bezel and for the most demanding applications, bulletproof glass can be specified for the screen.
An interface for the Dolch RayFire fibre-optic digital communication system can be built into the RuggedTouch display.
This permits the display to be mounted remotely from the host computer, separated by a distance of up to 20 miles.
The RuggedTouch Plus benefits from a computer integral with the screen.
This is a powerful ATX unit with a 1.2GHz Intel Pentium III processor, a 30Gbyte hard drive and 256Mbyte of RAM.
Six expansion slots are provided and various upgrade options are available.
