The PDI portable display interface from Dolch shares the small size, light weight and robustness of the company's PCs.

The PDI portable display interface from Dolch shares the small size, light weight and robustness of the company's PCs that have been specified for installation in military vehicles, aircraft and on warships Indeed, in common with its other products, the PDI can be specified for a wide range of defence and industrial applications

Designed to act as a remote display with other Dolch products, the PDI is nevertheless able to work with all Windows operating systems as well as with some Linux and Unix versions.

Via wireless communication, it is therefore independent of both operating system and platform.

The PDI is intended for use in either a docked position as a wired display or in an undocked position as a wireless display with a keyboard and pointing device.

Weighing just 1.5kg, the PDI has a daylight readable 8.4in display, so is small enough to fit into a generously sized pocket.

Moreover, being in the IP54 protection class, the special shock-absorbing design enables it to withstand being dropped onto a concrete surface from a height of 1m.

It is also protected against the ingress of water spray and dust particles, and for special applications, the PDI's temperature range can be extended to -20 to +50C.

Thanks to the considerable use of power saving technologies and drawing on the output from a Li-ion smart battery, the PDI has a minimum run time of 2h, including full brightness of the display.

The battery can be charged both in wired condition and via connection to an external power supply, in wireless condition.

When required for service, after booting the PDI can be used within a few seconds and access to the data of the host system can be realised without delay.
