The PXI-1025 MegaPAC chassis is designed for the most demanding mobile test, measurement, instrumentation and communications applications.

The PXI-1025 MegaPAC chassis is designed for the most demanding mobile test, measurement, instrumentation and communications applications.

With a built-in screen, detachable keyboard and sophisticated forced-air cooling system, the unit accepts up to eight 3U PXI modules.

PXI (PCI extensions for instrumentation) is an industrial computer architecture that uses CompactPCI for measurement and automation.

PXI platforms combine the high-speed PCIbus with integrated timing and triggering.

When used in conjunction with suitable "virtual instrumentation" software, the performance can be an order of magnitude greater than that of older-style measurement and automation architectures.

One company at the forefront of virtual instrumentation is National Instruments, and Dolch worked closely with National Instruments in the development of the PXI-1025 MegaPAC.

Fully self-contained, the PXI-1025 MegaPAC includes a 350W universal power supply.

Alternatively, for applications where only DC power is available, an external DC to AC inverter can be employed.

The MegaPAC features a high-quality 10.4in colour TFT, SVGA screen with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixel.

For information input there is an 85-key notebook-style keyboard and a stick-type, two-button pointing device.

A CD-ROM drive is built-in as standard.

A unique dual-chassis arrangement provides shock-resistance by effectively suspending an inner chassis within the external casing.

The eight-point IsoGuard shock-isolating matrix ensures that shocks and vibration are prevented from reaching the internal components or PXI modules.

Furthermore, the forced-air cooling system ensures that an appropriate internal temperature is maintained throughout the full operating temperature range of 0 to +50C (the storage temperature range is -20 to +70C).
