Datalogic's DS8100 laser scanner, with a depth of field of more than 1,500mm (59in) on IATA standard labels, represents the new reference point for Auto-ID in airports.
Datalogic UK recently completed the installation of seven omni-directional scanning systems at two of the UK's major airports, bringing the total number of Datalogic scanning bridges at UK airports to 43 - all installed over the past three years.

The benefits of the DS8100 are too many to list, but some of the more requested features are listed below: Depth of Field on Small Codes : Our ASTRATM patented technology provides multi-diode real time focusing to allow the use of small codes with a large depth of field at high speed.
Reading Through Shrinkwrap : Datalogic's patented twin beam system ensures the best possible performance by altering the laser angle to avoid reflection from the wrap material.
Damaged Code Reading : DS8100 incorporates our second generation advanced code reconstruction software which is highly tolerant of poor quality codes and varying conveyor speeds.
Sunlight Immunity : The multi-diode laser architecture uses modulated laser frequencies to provide complete immunity to this problem.
Thanks to fixed mounted optics and the elimination of any kind of mechanical focusing system, the DS8100 offers high performance, high reliability and low maintenance.
