Datalogic has announced the DS2400, a new component of its successful 2000 scanner series, which extends and enhances the performance and possibilities of this already very popular family.
Thanks to the advanced technological solutions developed by Datalogic's laboratories, the DS2400 can reach a reading distance of 600mm and a scanning performance of 1,000 scans per second in the extremely compact dimensions typical of Datalogic's 2000 family.
The DS2400 is the first fixed position scanner on the market which can boast such excellent performance in such compact dimensions (84mm x 68mm x 34mm), and with an unrivalled price/performance ratio.
Moreover, the DS2400 can adapt its reading characteristics to each application requirement.
The user can thus select the best scanning speed (400 to 1000 scans/sec) according to the bar code density (standard/high) and real reading conditions (standard/difficult) of each application.
The possibility of creating a tailor-made configuration enhances system performance, reduces the need for manual bar code reading, and improves the speed, quality and reliability of collected data.
The DS2400 is available in both direct and 90ø models, weighs in at less than 300 grams and features a dual high-speed serial interface (RS232/RS485 at 115.2 Kbaud).
WINHOSTTM, Datalogic's easy and intuitive set-up software, is also supplied free of charge.
Moreover, the DS2400 is equipped with an IP65 rugged industrial housing, which makes it suitable for the harshest operating environments.
Thanks to these unique features, Datalogic's new extended range scanner is the ideal solution for light materials handling applications, as well as all applications involving small- and medium-sized conveyors.
