The new Kyman-Net mobile computer answers market needs for a light yet rugged handheld mobile computer with extended wireless communication and a full range of automatic data capture capabilities.

Datalogic has extended its mobile@work family of mobile computers and vehicle mount terminals with the introduction of the new Kyman-Net mobile computer.

The product was developed in response to market needs for a light yet rugged handheld mobile computer with extended wireless communication and a full range of automatic data capture capabilities.

The Kyman-Net mobile computer is designed for typical data collection operations in warehouse management, transportation and field service automation including inventory, picking, shipping and receiving, parcel collection and delivery, and improving communications with remote workers.

The Kyman-Net is the lightest mobile computer in its class and its weight, combined with its excellent ergonomics, reduces operator fatigue without compromising reliability or robustness.

With a highly rugged outer casing with overmould protection, the Kyman-Net has been designed to withstand harsh environments, multiple drops from 1.5m and subzero temperatures.

Furthermore, it comes with powerful long-lasting Li-ion batteries and a large, bright colour display with touch screen and anti-glare/anti-scratch protection.

Packed with a powerful Intel X-Scale microprocessor and running the Windows CE operating system, the Kyman-Net comes with fully integrated automatic data capture capabilities enabling it to read linear codes, 2D codes, images and RFID HF-ISO tags, from near contact up to a distance of 10 metres.

It also features Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GSM/GPRS wireless connectivity for both data and voice communication.

The Flash memory can be expanded via a standard SD (Secure Digital) card slot.

Two keyboard layouts are available; numeric and alphanumeric with backlight making the device suitable for traditional text based applications (ie terminal emulation, through the DL-TCL-NET software client) as well as web-based solutions (ie Microsoft Internet Explorer via the DL-Locked-Web-Browser application).
