Datalogic has announced the launch of the latest version of its highly successful rugged PDA, the Datalogic JetT.
The new Datalogic JetT Version 5 is even more powerful than its predecessor and comes with a range of options making it one of the most flexible mobile computers on the market.
The new Datalogic JetT Version 5 has been designed for rugged mobile computing, barcoding and data capture applications including field force automation, retail in-store and warehousing and enables companies to optimise communications and data use, both within the warehouse and in the field.
This new mobile device runs the very latest version of Microsoft Windows CE 5.0 and carries a the new Intel PXA 270 microprocessor running at 520 MHz, designed to optimise the performance of Windows CE and to offer a future proof solution for buyers.
In addition to its increased processing power, the Datalogic JetT Version 5 also has increased Flash and RAM memories of 128Mb each, further optimising its performance.
It also comes with a Mini SD card slot making it possible for the user to expand the memory for data back-up operations and for storage of large database or to transfer data to other PDAs or PCs.
Wireless communications have also been improved with the option to have up to three wireless communication options in the same device.
Bluetooth is installed as standard and Wi-Fi and GSM/GPRS are available as additional options.
This enables simultaneous use of voice and data communications in real time regardless of location.
Additionally, the Datalogic JetT Version 5 comes with both USB and RS232 connectivity.
A full range of accessories is available for the mobile worker and the device is also completely compatible with the range of accessories for the previous model, such as the standard vehicle cradle, the loudspeaker cradle, the cigarette lighter power adapter and the dashboard mounting kit.
