DLoG (UK) has strengthened its senior sales team with the appointment of Charles Walker as Account Manager for northern area customers.

Walker joins the company with an impressive engineering and manufacturing pedigree, gained within the industrial and higher education sectors.
He also has a long track record of selecting, installing and operating advanced computer aided engineering (CAE) systems within leading manufacturing organisations.
"The market knowledge Charles brings - both as a user and vendor - will be a valuable asset in reinforcing and extending our sales operations", comments DLoG Director, John Davis.
"In his new role, he will not only oversee development of the company's northern region, but also play a key role in identifying new product and market opportunities".
"With a continuously expanding portfolio of hardware and software solutions, DLoG is one of the country's leading shop-floor data solutions specialists", notes Walker.
"We are actively extending our user base from traditional metalworking users into other manufacturing areas, as well as into the logistics and warehousing sectors.
We also have a number of new product developments in the pipeline, which will provide a strong basis on which to grow the business over coming months".
Born and educated in Manchester, Charles Walker served an engineering apprenticeship with the GEC group during the mid 1970s.
He gained an ONC and HNC in mechanical and production engineering and later completed an HND course in advanced manufacturing at the University College of Salford.
He extended his tool room and CNC programming experience within a number of companies before joining North Staffordshire College as a CAE Technician in 1986.
Three years later he became a Principal Technician at the University of Salford, where he held responsibilities for designing its CAE facility, evaluating software and hardware, and both developing and delivering short courses to industry.
In 1999, he moved to a pre-sales role at CAE software vendor EDS, where he specialised in five-axis manufacturing solutions.
He joins DLoG following the completion of a series of engineering projects for several high profile Unigraphics system users.
Single, and currently living in Macclesfield, Walker lists motorcycling and angling among his leisure pursuits.
