It offers true touch-screen operation and is equipped with a compact 10.4in colour TFT high-contrast screen that is ideal for both daylight or indoor use.
The MPC5/110 supports a wide range of industry-standard barcode scanners and pens.
A Cardbus card slot at the top of the unit's housing enables wireless cards - with or without integrated antennas - to be inserted for immediate WLAN use.
The new model is also supplied with a series of external ports geared to the needs of mobile use - including two USB 1.1, two COM RS232 and a standard plug-in connector for PS/2 keyboard or mouse.
All external ports are located at the base of the unit for easy access and maximum protection.
In addition, a standard Ethernet interface is available for wired connectivity applications.
The equipment's sealed design meets IP65 environmental standards, enabling it to be used in aggressive operating environments and in all weathers.
A solid aluminium housing ensures optimum thermal performance without the need for an inbuilt fan, while an optional heater unit permits safe operation in ambient conditions down to -30C.
The MPC5/110 incorporates an electrically isolated power pack that accepts DC inputs from 24 to 48V without an external convertor.
The unit also bridges power drops of up to 11V for at least 20s as standard, and can be supplied with a fully configurable, auto switch off facility, if required.
Available with Intel Pentium 3, 400MHz processors, the MPC5/110 supports industry-standard MS-Windows 98, 2000, Embedded XP, Embedded NT and Linux operating systems.
