The MPC5 ultracompact 400MHz mobile IPC is now available with an optional 733MHz Pentium 3 processor and up to 512Mbyte RAM as standard.

The MPC5 ultracompact 400MHz mobile IPC is now available with an optional 733MHz Pentium 3 processor and up to 512Mbyte RAM as standard Measuring just 229 x 280 x 83mm, the fully functional MPC5 is easily mounted on fork lift trucks, straddle carriers and in freight vehicle cabs

It offers true touch-screen operation and can be supplied with compact 10.4in VGA/SVGA or 12.1in SVGA colour high contrast screens suitable for both indoor or outdoor use.

A compact, membrane keyboard mounted into the screen surround is a further option on the latest MPC5.

Providing instant access to 25 of the most commonly used keys, this highly cost-effective choice enables fast and efficient data entry at less than 30% of the price of a full industrial keyboard.

The MPC5 supports a wide range of industry-standard barcode scanners and pens.

A Cardbus card slot at the top of the unit's housing enables wireless cards - with or without integrated antennas - to be inserted for immediate WLAN use.

The latest model is also supplied with a series of external ports geared to the needs of mobile use, including two USB 1.1, two COM RS232 and a standard plug-in connector for PS/2 keyboard or mouse.

All external ports are located at the base of the unit for easy access and maximum protection.

In addition, a standard Ethernet interface is available for non-wireless connectivity applications.

DLoG has also released a panel mounted version of the MPC5, which can be easily integrated into control cabinets and operating consoles.

The new unit features a 12.1in LCD touch screen display and, like other MPC5 variants, provides IP65 protection, enabling it to be used in aggressive operating environments.

Likewise, the panel mount version is housed in an aluminium casing, which ensures optimum thermal performance without the need for an inbuilt fan.

Units are also offered with an optional heater unit for operation in sub-zero conditions.

All MPC5 models incorporate electrically isolated power packs that accept 12, 24 or 48V DC inputs without an external convertor.

They also bridge power drops of up to 5V for at least 20s as standard, and can be supplied with a fully configurable, auto switch off facility, if required.
