Manufacturing software at Mach 2006 provides users with a familiar and productive environment and an assured long term compatibility and upgrade path with a wide range of proprietary applications.

Shopfloor networking and hardware firm DLog will be launching it Pro series of manufacturing software on stand 5775 at Mach 2006, which takes place at Birminghgam's NEC between 15th and 19th May.

Developed using Microsoft Net tools, the software provides users with a familiar and productive environment based on Microsoft Office and an assured long term compatibility and upgrade path with a wide range of proprietary applications.

The first products to be released are ProRM for production data management, ProFMC for DNC, and the ProNC fully featured NC editing system.

To meet the needs of small and medium sized enterprise, the ProRM resource manager is for managing, delivering and archiving production related data.

It provides a seamless exchange between production planning, engineering, manufacturing control and shopfloor departments.

The system handles all types of manufacturing based files - including NC programs, drawings, images, video clips, documents and spreadsheets - for assemblies and subassemblies, as well as individual components.

ProRM also has a WinXP look and feel and a simple tree structure, which lets users drill down for information from top level assembly, through subassemblies, to individual component parts.

The system's search function operates across all database fields and a preview facility enables all file types to be accessed and viewed without the need to switch between applications.

Database-driven ProRM provides advanced file management, distribution and reporting, with two-way communication with NC machines for fast and effective delivery of manufacturing data to the shopfloor, automated shopfloor data collection and report generation using standard crystal reports.

The first releases of ProFMC and ProNCE will also be demonstrated at Mach.

ProFMC supports all the standard requirements of a modern DNC system, including: up and downloading of NC programs; remote DNC, enabling operators to download files directly to their machine controller; drip feed with re-entry from previous machine stop; and the ability to run up to 256 DNC tasks simultaneously.

The module also includes a drag-and-drop facility for single or multiple files and a machine list, which provides an overview of all current machine statuses.

ProNCE delivers editing tools for NC programs of any length.

An NC wizard provides fast and accurate editing of values, cycles and macros, along with line numbering and renumbering, an x-y-z range finder, and back plotting capability.

In addition, the NC file compare function highlights all changes between the original and optimised versions of the program.

The productivity, efficiency and time-to-market benefits of touchscreen data transfer, collection and reporting will also be highlighted at the show, through demonstrations of the company's latest hardware for shopfloor, manufacturing and process industry applications.
