The latest version of DLoG's Production Link data collection system incorporates a new logistics module Production Link connects seamlessly with an existing ERP system to bridge the gap between back office and production operations

All relevant data for the manufacturing process is automatically retrieved from the ERP system, conveniently arranged and then presented in a user-friendly format to operators via touch screen terminals.

Users can then select the order to be processed and record requested data, such as quantities to be produced.

After calculation and approval, the data is returned to the ERP system.

Reliable data recording is ensured by direct transfer from the ERP system to the machine operators, which eliminates potential problems of incorrect order information or mis-read barcode scans.

The new warehouse and logistics module for DLoG's Production Link system extends data collection to the warehouse.

Here, goods received can be matched to the purchase order raised by the ERP or finance system.

In the same way, items can be picked and issued to operators at various stages of manufacture, for example within the assembly area.

When stocktaking is carried out, any discrepancies between inventory figures and the quantities held in the ERP system can be reconciled automatically.

When all bookings are made in a central fixed location, the system may be deployed using DLoG's industrial touch screen terminals.

However, where warehouse staff are constantly moving around, hand held units such as Symbol's MC9090 can be used.

In this case, barcode scanning is often used to input data from incoming goods or documentation.
