Diesels are quiet, economical and clean
Water-cooled three- and four-cylinder compact heavy-duty diesel engines are exceptionally quiet and very economical, with extremely low emissions.
Water-cooled engines offer quiet operation
Deutz' D2008 and D2009 engines offer compact, space-saving engine platforms to fully minimise any potential equipment redesign costs.
As well as using the engine's lubrication oil as a cooling medium, a toothed belt was used as a camshaft drive for the first time on a medium output industrial diesel engine.
In 2004 the 1011F, itself a revision to the original 1011 engine, was again revised and updated, to become the 2011 engine, in order to meet the stringent exhaust emission regulations in Europe and North America.
With sales continuing to grow, the 500,000th unit rolled off the German assembly line in 2000.

Lubricants on show at Tooling 2002
Advanced Microlubrication Systems is featuring its Microlube precision lubrication system and SafeCut lubricant alongside a comprehensive range of chamfering machines at the Tooling 2002 show.
Today, it is used in more than 200 different types of industrial equipment around the world, including construction and allied plant, as well as other materials handling and mobile equipment.
The original engine was available with two, three or four cylinders, featuring an integrated or conventional cooling system, with power ratings spanning 22 to 61kW.
Later improvements saw the power rating increased to 64kW.
The most recent development was the introduction earlier this year of a four-cylinder model featuring water-cooling.
This has allowed the engines to meet the new Tier 3 exhaust emissions regulations for North America and Europe, as well as increasing the maximum power output to 74.9kW.
All of this has been achieved without any change to the original engine's compact overall dimensions.
The new water-cooled model is available in either naturally aspirated or turbocharged versions, with the latter incorporating charge air cooling.
Both engine types have a proven fuel injection system with a mechanical engine governor.
An optional electronic engine governor makes the engine suitable for use as part of a power train management system.
Deutz UK Managing Director, Klaus-Ulrich Klinger, said: "The production of the one millionth 2011 engine demonstrates its unrivalled popularity with industrial end-users around the world".
"Reaching this important milestone has undoubtedly been helped by the high levels of sales achieved over the years in the UK".
The 2011 series complies with European and US exhaust emission regulations as specified by EU Stage III and EPA Tier 3.
Extremely compact, 2011 models provide an outstanding power to weight ratio, together with high reliability and long maintenance intervals with low wear.
