Jargon buster cuts through the ATEX jungle
ABB has published an "ATEX jargon buster" that helps motor users cut through the jungle of terms and definitions that make up the new ATEX Directives.
These factors determine, more than in the past, people's willingness to relocate, the number of hours that they wish to work and their ambitions for the future.
Ann Pinn, MD of Delta said: "Gone are the days when people adhered rigidly to their 5-year career plans.
There is a welcome new flexibility in the workplace and more often than not, the employer is prepared to fit in with an individual's needs in order to retain good people".
The survey also revealed that part-time work is becoming much more acceptable and employers are happier to consider people who, after having their children, do not necessarily want to go back to work full time.
Pinn quoted Delta's own regime where flexibility is the key: "We have people who work part time and others who need time off for their children.
We retain the skills and knowledge developed within the company and it works well for both parties".
Another work-pattern trend exposed by the survey, is the increasing number of "house husbands", especially it would seem among science-based companies.
This is a direct result of professional couples making lifestyle decisions based on an individual's earning power.
Many of Delta's clients are also considering different ways of working - if the candidate has the skills they seek then compromise is the order of the day.
