Connection technology cuts motor setup
time
From April 2002, all Danfoss Bauer geared motor units up to 2.2kW will be supplied fitted with innovative Cage Clamp connection technology which reduces connection time and costs by up to 75%.
The connection time of electric motors represents a significant cost that is often neglected During initial installation and service, connection time can exceed 20-30min, incurring both direct manpower cost and production downtime costs

Setting a new standard, from April 2002, all Danfoss Bauer geared motor units up to 2.2kW will be supplied fitted with innovative Cage Clamp connection technology which reduces connection time and costs by up to 75%.
This new screwless connection method offers simple push-in connection from the top, in full view of the installation engineer, to ensure a fast but secure connection in less than one quarter of the time taken with screw connectors.
All copper wires, stranded and solid from 0.5 to 2.5mm2 can be accommodated.
Cost savings in materials and tooling are an additional benefit.
Multicore cable ends, cable eyes and cable ring tools become a thing of the past, as do tools like crimping pliers.
Reliability is enhanced as there is no possibility of overtightening or breaking of terminal screws or bolts, reducing the incidence of fitting spare terminal blocks.
Time consumed in searching for lost washers and nuts is also eliminated.
Cage Clamp terminations have been extensively tested for vibration and shock resistance and comply with a host of international standards including UL, CSA and Lloyds Register of Shipping.
