Following the acquisition of Bauer by Danfoss, the new Danfoss Motion Controls organisation will offer the market a co-ordinated range of drives and geared motor units
Connection technology cuts motor setup time
From April 2002, all Danfoss Bauer geared motor units up to 2.2kW will be supplied fitted with innovative Cage Clamp connection technology which reduces connection time and costs by up to 75%.
In this regard, safe actuators are of particular importance.
The partnership of Danfoss and Pilz opens up new applications using their respective products in differing combinations.
As a result of the collaboration, Danfoss will equip the new VLT AutomationDrive FC300 series of drives with an interface for the SafetyBus-p safe open-bus communications protocol.
The AutomationDrive already has additional integrated safety functions that provide users with a safe drive solution that fits into their existing safety technology.
The bidirectional communications for the SafeBus system facilitates operation, parameterisation and diagnosis.
Consequently, users can implement such functions as "safe stop" or "restart protection" quickly and easily.
It is already possible with the AutomationDrive to combine multiple Danfoss drives with the Pilz PNOZ multi-safety system into a safe drive solution.
The principle advantages are monitoring of motor revolutions and numerous other safety functions across multiple axes.
At Hanover Fair 2005, the two companies and the SafetyBUS-p Club presented application examples of the combination of products giving users important new safety advantages.
