This consolidation will be considered by many in the industry to be long overdue and will concentrate resources, focus management efforts and strengthen the future business position of the Company.
The investment by the owners, United States based Corporation ATW Companies, amounts to well over ?1m and includes new equipment projects.
It also confirms their commitment to manufacturing in the UK and their intention to continue to develop the products and services offered by the Company.
It is intended to continue to manufacture all the Group's widening product range and the phased transfer of knowledge, skills and equipment will commence during the next few weeks.
The workforce at Birmingham and Wokingham have already been advised of the plan and have offered their support in carrying forward the business, despite the uncertainty of their own futures.
Plans to reinforce the existing Dorset operational and sales staff are already well underway in order to train personnel prior to handing over liaison with customers.
In addition, the recent introduction of a flexible working hours and work sharing initiative between Dorset and it's sister operations has already improved response times overall.
Plans are also in hand to manufacture some items for inventory, where this can readily be accomplished, in order to provide uninterrupted service to customers during the entire project.
