Industrial greases drop restricted

Dow Corning is reformulating its Molykote brand industrial greases to remove azo dye compounds.
In response to recent European Union regulatory directives (76/769/EEC) relating to restrictions on the use of certain azo colourants, Dow Corning is reformulating its Molykote brand industrial greases to remove azo dye compounds "Sustainability is a foundational element in the way Dow Corning does business", said Geert DeBacker, Global Marketing Director, Molykote Lubricants

The greases impacted by this change include Molykote 33 Medium, Molykote 33 Light, Molykote 44 Medium, Molykote 44 Light and Molykote 55 O-Ring.
Customers may notice a slight variation in product colour with the new formulations, but product performance will not be affected.
The azo-free formulation greases will be introduced over the next few months.
