DP Technology Corp has completed the strategic merger of Esprit and Auton through the cash acquisition of Auton.

DP Technology Corp has completed the strategic merger of Esprit and Auton through the cash acquisition of Auton Described as the merging of Italian design with American technology, this merger provides significant, immediate and long-term opportunities for Auton and Esprit customers, employees, resellers and partners

These opportunities are magnified by the strategic nature of the merger, the companies' complementary technology and distribution, and by a common culture - a shared vision and collective passion for excellence.

Auton is the leading developer and supplier of CAM software for mould and model making within Italy.

Over the last 12 years, the company has accumulated extensive expertise and built comprehensive technology within the areas of three-axis, five-axis and high-speed machining.

The Auton CAM system provides automated, easy-to-use, robust and powerful three- and five-axis machining cycles.

Using knowledge of in-process stock, remaining material, and integrated simulation and verification Auton delivers fast, safe and reliable programming for a wide variety of 3D machining applications.

Esprit's worldwide sales and support network will now have the technical expertise and advanced machining capabilities of the Auton three-axis, five-axis and high-speed machining technology available to serve its local markets.

The Auton community will benefit from having the wire EDM, advanced production and multitasking mill-turn machining technology of Esprit available to them.

DP's regional offices in Europe, Asia and America will coordinate the sales and support activities for both products.

The combined companies will move forward with all their existing personnel and two separate products marketed under the same brand name, Esprit.

The products will retain their individual design, focus and development teams while benefiting from the strength of one worldwide brand identity.

This strength will inspire greater confidence and stronger commitment to each individual product.

The three cofounders at Auton, Francesco Bandini, Marco D'Ancona and Roberto Parigi, agree the development teams in Florence and Camarillo have been dramatically strengthened as a result of this merger.

They expressed confidence the teams' close collaboration to exchange ideas, technology and business processes will greatly benefit each individual product.

Most significantly, as a result of the merger each Auton cofounder personally anticipates a return to increased involvement in product research and development.

"With this merging of Italian design with American technology DP Technology reinforces its commitment to CNC programmers to provide them with the most powerful CAM software ever", said Dan Frayssinet, DP Technology's Chief Executive Officer.

"This perfect, strategic merger provides our customers, employees, resellers and partners with greater opportunity, significantly more strength, and added security that their choice of Esprit as their CAM system is the right choice".
