DEM Solutions has continued its drive to increase market presence in European and Asian territories with the appointment of Alister Minty to its Board of Directors.

Minty has joined the company as the role of Non-Executive Director.

He brings to DEM Solutions significant experience in strategic sales, planning and business development, currently being the Chairman of two technology companies and in charge of his own independent consultancy.

He was previously VP Sales at IndigoVision, a Business Group Manager at VLSI Vision, and an Engineering Project Manager at Racal.

Minty commented, "DEM Solutions has made substantial inroads into the European, Japanese and US markets with their market-leading technology over the last eighteen months".

"This provides a significant springboard for accelerated growth moving forward".

"I am delighted to be joining the team".

John Favier, CEO of DEM Solutions, added, "I am delighted to welcome Alister to our board".

"Alister's expertise will be important to expanding our presence in the European and Japanese regional markets at a time when the computer aided engineering (CAE) market is growing at a rate of 10-15% per annum".

DEM Solutions' software, EDEM, enables engineers to simulate particulate solids within their handling, processing and manufacturing operations to produce valuable information for innovation and improvement of equipment and process design.

The company currently has blue chip clients in the Americas, Europe and the Far East.

EDEM also has the ability to couple with other CAE tools, which gives the software the power to simulate the complicated interactions between particles and other media.

These CAE couplings include fluid dynamics, structural analysis, electrical and magnetic fields, chemical kinetics and rigid body dynamics.
