Associated Octel opt for composite valve/actuator
Associated Octel Company Ltd, a major manufacturer of petroleum additives, has recently specified a combination of the Nil-Cor composite ball valve and the EFC (Epoxy Filled Composite) actuator
The micro-processor based unit can also be used to perform diagnostics on subassemblies, such as I/P transducers, positioners and actuators.
Alongside the EVT(Electronic Valve Tester), used to test Safety Relief Valves, the technology represents a major part of Dresser's new Total Valve Management Program.
Driven by market demand to reduce "total costs of ownership", this program is intended to help valve customers improve their management of key plant assets, reduce maintenance overhead and maximise operational efficiency.
Using specially developed software (Valvekeep?), the Program first establishes a detailed profile of every valve in use or under repair on a designated site.
Data collection records condition and location of equipment, valve selection and application criteria, sizing and specification, and operational history.
This process of Verification and Identification, and resultant database, establishes the parameters of a complete maintenance, repair and testing regimen.
The program will be implemented through both Dresser's regional offices and established Green Tag Centres (for SRV repair and maintenance) and MARCS (Masoneilan Approved Repair Centres).
Dresser Valve Division, which now markets nine substantive valve and actuator ranges, is confident that no other valve manufacturer can offer such broad- based yet specialised experience and capability.
