Upgrade takes product lifecycle management further
Dassault Systemes and IBM are releasing Version 5 Release 13 (V5R13) of their product lifecycle management (PLM) portfolio, comprising Catia, Enovia and Smarteam.
Based in Culemborg, Holland, Rademaker BV is a part of the Rademaker Group, an organisation which focuses on developing, producing, and selling installations (including process controls and automation) for a variety of food-processing industries.
The company builds made-to-order products using stainless steel, aluminium, and other metal components.
" SmarTeam offers Rademaker a total data management solution for the entire product lifecycle process", said AH Verhaar, Rademaker's technical director.
"With this application we can manage and control all project-related documents and processes, and SmarTeam provides an excellent interface between the 3D SolidWorks system and our logistic package".
" SmarTeam will enable us to centralise our information in a single repository from which it can be made available company-wide", Verhaar added.
"The software also offers a number of features that meet our needs, including change management - specifically the management of revisions, project management and component management.
SmarTeam has the particular ability to relate component management to relevant documentation and offers visibility of this interrelationship".
The company is implementing SmarTeam in three phases, having started in May 2002 with the implementation of engineering and project related data.
This will be followed in September 2002 by quotations and order-intake projects and accompanying documents.
Supporting departments and servicing with associated documents will be completed by the end of 2002.
Chris Jones, President of European Operation for SmarTeam, comments: "This once again demonstrates SmarTeam's ability to bring rapid return on investment to companies, without a protracted implementation.
This ability to deploy a solution rapidly allows companies to focus on their core business without being distracted by the technology".
Rademaker is working with SmarTeam reseller CADMES in Hertogenbosch, Holland, for ongoing software implementation, training, and support.
