Dassault Systemes President and CEO Bernard Charles gave a keynote presentation at the conference focusing on 3D-powered design innovations.

Dassault Systemes (DS) has hosted its Greater China PLM Executive Summit 2008, Asia's largest PLM conference.

Over 150 of China's CEOs, business executives and municipal representatives gathered at the Kempinski Hotel Dalian to learn about and discuss the future of PLM and its role in the growth of eco-design industries in China.

"China, like the whole world, is now confronting daunting and imminent environmental and resource sustainability challenges".

"By leveraging its huge pool of intellectual talent and resources and motivated by the urgency to find solutions now, China actually has a real opportunity to become a world leader in eco-design innovations", said Christian Nardin, President of Dassault Systemes Asia.

"History is full of examples of countries and communities turning their biggest challenges into their greatest strength".

"We feel China has a real opportunity to do the same, in overcoming its own challenges it will also become one of the world leaders in eco-design, alternative energy and environmentally sustainable technologies", he added.

"That is why Dassault Systems is focusing on assisting Chinese innovators and developers to create the next generation of globally green technology solutions".

Dassault Systemes President and CEO Bernard Charles gave a keynote presentation at the conference focusing on 3D-powered design innovations and their growing role in developing eco-design solutions, specifically relating to product lifecycles, from conception to recycling.

According to Dassault Systemes' China Vice President, Greater China Value Channel, Heng Zhao, "The lifelike experience is what allows customer to enter the core of the product creation process without a long learning curve".

"This is a vital element to PLM 2.0 and our V6 platform, because it allows customers, in addition to design engineers, to create product IP.

With it companies can harness collective intelligence from diverse user communities all over the world".

A panel discussion lead by executives from DS, HP, Yantai Raffles, SAIC Motor and Korea Aerospace Industries wrapped up the summit on a topic preoccupying the entire global business ecosystem - how to be an environmentally responsible business and leave a "green footprint".

With its digital 3D end-to-end PLM solutions, Dassault Systemes helps manufacturers use resources more efficiently.

Before producing anything in the real world, Chinese companies can design, simulate, test and produce products in 3D.

This allows them to optimise a product's technical, cost and environmental criteria, avoiding wasteful production.
