Stereolithography resin good enough for production
DSM Somos announces the release of the second member of the DSM Somos 9100 family of resins, Somos 9120, for use with solid state laser equipped stereolithography machines.
The new material technologies represented in Raven facilitate visualization of the prototype during the build process, a property much sought after by SL machine users.
The black colour obtained through photoimaging represents one of the most demanded colours in automotive and other industrial sectors.
Somos Raven 7620 offers high humidity resistance, as well as toughness, to create rigid parts without the fragility typically associated in similar SL applications.
The low product viscosity contributes to easy cleaning and overall convenience in the build process.
Parts made from Raven 7620 can also be used as patterns for investment casting based on excellent part drainage and burn out.
The new product launch at EuroMold 2001 and the range of ProtoFunctional materials on display evidenced the vast technological know-how encompassed within DSM Somos.
These products further distinguish the company as innovation leader and affirm its goal towards the development and advancement of materials that will facilitate the transition of rapid prototyping into rapid manufacturing.
The new resin Somos Raven 7620 was also demonstrated during the fair at the Sibco stand (materials distributor and service provider for RP industry), where an SLA machine built parts in the new resin. Request a free brochure from DSM Somos ...
